A.  We are independent versus captive, which we believe allows us the ability to bring better solutions to you, and not just those from a single provider. We look at the overall picture and provide our clients with a comprehensive financial plan. We’re not just about selling products; we’re about empowering our clients and helping them grow, protect and eventually distribute their assets.

A.  GNZ Financial Services is an independent financial planning firm. We pride ourselves on being completely independent, meaning that we do not have “GNZ Financial Services products” or just one company’s products to recommend. We can look objectively at a large number of financial products and see which ones best fit your needs. Therefore, we only benefit long-term by keeping your business due to our service and competitive performance, along with making proper suitable recommendations.

A.  No. GNZ Financial Services never directly holds your money. Instead, the money is invested directly through one of several well known investment management companies or a national brokerage holding account containing your various market investments.

  • A.  A comprehensive assessment of your current financial situation;
  • Assistance in helping you determine your financial needs and goals;
  • An explanation of the available financial products (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRAs, etc.), including their income potential, tax savings opportunities, and associated risks;
  • Creation of a timetable for implementing the plan and helping you periodically review your progress.

A very important question, especially in today’s world. We encourage people to look our company up by checking with the Better Business Bureau, and verifying Greg’s licensing status with the State Insurance Department and FINRA. Greg is properly licensed and registered with the required regulatory bodies with a complete history available. Greg is GNZ’s key advisor, so search for Gregory Zott at:

A.  Many of our clients asked this same question. The fact is we specialize in retirement, income and estate planning. We pride ourselves in showing clients how they may be able to substantially reduce risk, investment costs and taxes. We offer a Money Back Guarantee for any fee for services provided, in writing.  If we cannot meet the value that someone pays for our Advisory Services, then we will gladly refund 100% of your money. The real question is, “Why shouldn’t I come and see you?”

A.  Due to the specific nature of our services and the different planning needs of our clients, all fees are discussed individually. However, there are three general compensation arrangements.

  • - i. Advisor Fee for Services – Creating plans, strategies and reports aimed to dramatically improve your financial situation. Similar to paying an accountant to prepare your taxes, we have services we offer on a fee basis as well.
  • - ii. Assets Under Management Fee - We get paid based on assets under management for investments, and the ongoing planning for those accounts. We have several money management services to meet your needs.
  • - iii. Commissions - For products such as Life Insurance, Annuities or Long Term Care Insurance, we get paid commissions directly from the carrier for marketing and servicing their products.

A.  GNZ Financial offers a variety of ways to pay for our services, from a fee paid to put together a plan, to charging the client a percentage of the assets that we manage, or commissions paid by financial company providers due to products sold for your planning needs. One belief holds true in this area. We are an independent financial planning firm. We do not have a captive company telling us what to recommend to our clients. We can offer most any investment tool that is available in the market place, thus allowing us to more easily work toward what is in your best interest. Typically a new client will feel most comfortable working with us on a fee-basis so that when a change is recommended the client has less of a concern regarding the motives of the advisor making the recommendation. This also helps protects the client in another way: if we don’t continue to service you and do a good job for you, you can leave without having paid an up-front commission. Thus, providing good service and competitive results is the key in our ability to continue to receive revenue.

A.  The amount you will pay will depend on your particular needs. Often times, as we are getting to know new clients who are unsure of whether or not they want to work with us in the future, we will charge a fully refundable flat fee to put a plan together for that client. That way, the client can “kick the tires” on us to see what recommendations we have for them and if they decide not to work with us but like the recommendations they can take the plan and implement it somewhere else while the people who have prepared that plan can be compensated for the work that they have done.
