There are a vast number of products being offered today by numerous insurance and investment companies within the financial industry,  Many companies offer similar competitive financial products.

As soon as something new is created, dozens of companies rush to develop the same product.  Due to this “commoditization” of financial products, it is more important than ever to know the purpose of the financial tool rather than the tool itself.

Just like your household toolbox, it is important that you maintain at least a basic collection of common “Financial Tools”.  Otherwise, you may find yourself making routine chores much more difficult on yourself than they need to be.  For example, if we were reaching into our household toolbox in order to complete the simple chore of hanging a picture on the wall…And all we had was a HAMMER and a SCREW…

We could possibly BEAT the SCREW into the wall in order to hang the picture…

But the chore would be much easier if we had the proper tools… If we had a NAIL to go with our HAMMER or if we had a SCREW-DRIVER to go with our SCREW…

We would be able to do a much BETTER JOB of hanging our picture on the wall.

Unfortunately, many people are essentially “BEATING SCREWS INTO THE WALL”
when it comes to how they are handling their money!

Financial Tools are similar to household tools in the sense that they are each designed to perform specific functions.  When they are used in a manner that they were not specifically designed for, they often will not be able to effectively & efficiently perform the chore at hand.  Three of the most common generic mistakes I find people making with their money are:
  • Trying to get by with too few financial-tools in their toolbox (all their eggs in one basket).
  • Trying to make a financial-tool perform a chore it was not designed to do (beating screws into the wall).
  • Not realizing there may be a much improved financial-tool for the chore at hand (making things difficult on themselves).
Below are just some of the products we use at GNZ Financial Services.  Our job is to make sure you have the most effective financial tool available for the most efficient  method to complete the job for your specific financial plan.
